Rejuvenate Jamaica Hospitals is a UK-based charity set up to help improve hospital facilities and equipment in hospitals in Jamaica, starting first with Lionel Town and May Pen. Our mission is to contribute to the health and well-being of the people using public hospitals in Jamaica by enhancing and improving public facilities. Rejuvenate was established in 2013 as a result of the founder’s experience of visiting a friend at a public hospital in Jamaica. The conditions she saw left her with the determination to bring about improvements to facilities in public hospital in Jamaica, wherever needed.
Last year RJH's founder was shown in this photo, standing in a bare, folorn and neglected mother and baby unit: no place for expectant mums to give birth and look after their new-borns.
Having already shown some progress photos, we are delighted to show you the completed refurbishment, complete with mums, babies and staff making use of the fresh and comfy new ward.
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped to make this possible. This project has involved much hard bucket-waving in UK to raise money and hard work by the work teams on the ground to make it happen. See more on the hospital project page...
RJH is happy to send a speaker to your church or group to share more information about the urgent needs in Jamaican hospitals and how you can help. We would love for more groups and churches to adopt us and raise funds regularly for either our general needs or for particular projects.
You may have seen how Shane Edwards has run two half-marathons to raise sponsorship for Jamaican hospitals. Could you or someone you know carry out a sponsored run, ride or other activity on our behalf. Let your imagination run loose! And because we are a registered UK charity, any donations from UK tax payers can be Gift-aided, which adds another 25% to your gift.
Every weekend our willing volunteers are out somewhere with our distinctive collecting buckets! It might be a big shopping mall or your local Tesco or Sainsburys. Can you spare part of a day to gather in a harvest for us? We supply the buckets and ID cards and we arrange the necessary permissions beforehand.
Every little helps! If you aren't able to do any of the above, please use our donate button to send us whatever you can spare. Somewhere in Jamaica a sick baby, child or adult will be thankful you did.
Use our contact form and donate button below to respond to the needs we have shown you here.
